Purchasing these at a discount and using them costs $730.35 + ($750 x 1.96%) = $745.05. I prefer the latter.

Yes, I was able to make two payments of $250 each toward federal estimated tax paying the debit card fee of $2.55 and $2.00 (two different services because the first would not accept a second payment). Two payments per quarter is the maximum allowed by IRS. This saved me a few bucks, but, mostly it was a way to meet a minimum spending requirement.

For a net of around 3% not worthwhile unless you have to meet a spend on a card. Staples no fee Visa with 5x points is a better deal
3% is in addition to your credit card rewards (2.5%?) so that’s >5% in rewards in cash. Points can sit unused for a while, and a lot of people I know redeem for 1.25 cents for travel rewards.
But don’t forget shopping portal points, which with the current bonuses can net you over 10% in a mix of cash back and miles.

Thanks Dan! I bought 6 of them and the liquidated them to pay my kids tuition. Facts is the tuition system the school uses and they charged me 2.95% credit card fee but with the discount I got on there it only cost me like $3 and change to pay close to 1,500 in tuition and I get point and I used a new card that I need to reach spending level for to get the sign on bonus

I bought $1,500 on Sunday morning and it’s still showing that I bought $1,500 today. It’s a seriously glitchy website. (Has me worried how good their security could be.)
Has anyone figured out how their limit system works? Is it per account, name, address, IP, card? I tried a couple of different variations on those options and none seemed to work.
As for how to use them – if all else fails, Square’s fees if you use their invoice system (2.9% + $0.30) come out to be almost exactly the same as the discount. You get back $1,454.70 net after fees vs. $1,460.70 to buy them. You are basically paying $6 to get between $14.61 and $51.12 in cash back (depending on the card used). I figure it shouldn’t be such a major risk because you are not directly charging your own cards. (But maybe I’m naive.)
For example, I used the AMEX Blue Bus Cash (trying to hit my $15K spend to get a 75K MR signup bonus), so I am getting back 2,921 MR for $6 net spend. (Plus my time, of course.) Deposited back into my bank the next day, so I am also theoretically getting 1-2 months of free financing/interest to boot.
